Workforce
The Careerforce workforce team engages across the health and disability sector through its legislated leadership role to facilitate, develop and implement strategic plans to meet future workforce needs.
Workforce stakeholders include consumers, health and disability service providers, government officials, funders, workers, informal carers, unions, employer representatives and education providers. The main focus currently is non-regulated workforce recognising there is a strong relationship between it and the regulated workforce when considering future workforce and education and training needs. The future skill needs consider the service needs, roles and competencies required of workers involved in lifelong disability care and support, Maori community workers, health of the older people, public, primary, allied, complimentary, hospital based, technical, and mental health.
Workforce activities are guided by the six priorities and longer term goals as identified in the Investment Plan.
