How do I sign up and become a Careerforce Trainee?
Contact Careerforce Customer Services Team or if you know who your Careerforce Workplace Advisor is, contact them and an information pack will be sent to you with everything you need to know about becoming a trainee.
How can I get a SOP Badge?
On completion of your National Certificate in Support of the Older Person, you may wish to purchase the SOP badge. Print off the application and send to Careerforce with $10. Alternatively, contact the Customer Services Team who will send out a form to you.
How do I know how far through my qualification I am?
You can request a training progress report through the feedback page or contact the Customer Services Team on 0800 277 486.
I am having trouble understanding a Unit Standard, what do I do?
Contact your workplace Training Coordinator or the Qualifications Team at Careerforce (phone 0800 277 485, select option 4).
How do I access off job unit standards 7916, 7926, 7954 and 15309?
You can contact the Customer Services Team at Careerforce or send an enquiry to cpqinfo@cssito.org.nz.
Why are my first aid units not showing up on NZQA or on my Careerforce progress report?
You will need to ensure that the accredited education provider you trained through, such as St John or Red Cross, has registered your units with NZQA as Careerforce can not register first aid units. This process can take up to eight weeks. Contact your workplace Training Coordinator or the person who assessed you for first aid and get them to help you
How do I update my personal details, ie name, address, etc?

How do I find out what unit standards and credits I have achieved so far?
If you have your NZQA hook-on number you can access your own record of learning on the NZQA website, www.nzqa.govt.nz. You can look up the units and credits you have achieved. Note that if the credits have been registered with Careerforce in the last seven days, they may not yet show up on the NZQA website.
What is the process for receiving my National Certificate once I have finished my final unit standard?
As soon as Careerforce receives confirmation that your have completed your final unit standard from your education provider and/or workplace an application is sent to NZQA. Generally the certificate is then sent to Careerforce where it is framed and then sent to the trainee or workplace.

If I change employer, can I continue to study?
Yes, you will need to complete a new training agreement but you can continue with your current studies. Contact your Careerforce Workplace Advisor as soon as you know you are changing employers and they will assist you with the process. If you do not know who your workplace advisor is contact Customer Services 0800 277 486.
How can I continue my studying once I have completed my current qualification?
Contact your Careerforce Workplace Advisor for guidance.
How do I know who my Careerforce Workplace Advisor is?
You in-house Training Co-ordinator may be able to answer this, but you can contact the Customer Services Team at Careerforce who will be able to advise you.
